One of the most common reasons for poorly adhering UV nail wraps is inadequate preparation. Many believe it's enough to file the nails and simply apply the wraps. Unfortunately, that's wrong! For your wraps to hold perfectly, your nails must be grease-free, clean, and slightly roughened.
Here's how to do it right:
• Cleaning: First, wash your hands thoroughly. Then use alcohol-free nail polish remover or cleaner – even if there's no polish on your nails.
• Cuticles: Gently push them back with a rosewood stick. Well-groomed cuticles ensure that the wraps seal cleanly.
• Buffing: Gently roughen the nail surface with a buffer. This ensures better adhesion.
Another common mistake is the wrong wrap size. If the wrap is too large, it sticks beyond the edges, air bubbles form – and it peels off again.
Tip: It's better to choose a UV nail wrap that is slightly smaller than the nail. It can be pulled and stretched as needed to fit your nail perfectly.
