Why is a well-equipped beginner set useful? Getting started with UV nail wraps can seem overwhelming: there's a multitude of products, brands, brush sizes, and UV light combinations. A well-curated beginner set compactly combines the most important components – saving time, money, and reducing bad purchases. If you start directly with a complete set, you avoid frustration due to missing accessories, unsuitable wrap sizes, or inferior UV lamps. Replenishing used materials is, of course, possible and sensible at any time.

The Core Components of a Starter Set (Specifically for Manifix UV Nail Wraps)

• Manifix UV Nail Wraps: The foundation of your look. Pay attention to wrap thickness, color variety, durability, and easy removal. For beginners, wraps with good stretch, low bubble risk, and clean adhesion are suitable.
• UV Lamp or LED UV Lamp: The wet-to-dry curing of wraps requires a suitable light source. Generally, these differ enormously in their wattage. For Manifix UV nail wraps, a lamp with only 6 watts is completely sufficient. Often, lamps up to 40 watts are sold elsewhere or used in nail salons. This is not only unnecessary but also overkill. (Feel free to read my article: "UV Rays and Myths") In general, even exposure is absolutely sensible. Look for short curing times and safe shielding. (Manifix 60 seconds)
• Primer and Adhesion Promoter: A good adhesion promoter ensures that the wrap adheres reliably to the natural nail. Without an adhesion promoter, air bubbles or quick peeling can occur. With Manifix, the wraps only adhere selectively and are thinly coated with a UV polish of your choice and cured under the UV lamp. Only this combination results in a compact nail system. Please note that a base, i.e., a "Base Coat," is only used as a primer for normal nail wraps. No primer is used for Manifix UV nail wraps!
• Sealant/Top Coat: The "Top Coat" protects the wrap, increases shine and durability. But beware, the Manifix TOP COAT is exclusively for fixing without a UV lamp and only for normal nail wraps or for quick fixing of additional nail stickers. For UV nail wraps, UV polishes are suitable, which in turn are cured with a lamp. You have the choice whether matte, glossy, or shimmering glitter – many options are possible.
• File & Buffer: A nail file is not just a file. There are many different types. Material, pores, and grit are as different as "day and night." You've probably never thought about that, have you? Visually the same, yet, for example, a glass file is not just a glass file. So let me briefly explain the most important differences in section 4.

• Cleansers and Cleaning Wipes: Alcohol-based cleanser or special Nail Prep ensures that the surface is free of oils and the wrap adheres better. At least, that's how it seems. This is not necessary for all wraps. It's important that your nails are grease-free. Because as you've probably already noticed, Manifix nail wraps can be removed with remover oil (squalane-based) or household oil. Tip: wash your hands thoroughly beforehand with dish soap or bar soap. Dry your hands with a paper towel, as hand towels can contain soap and grease residues. Also make sure your fingertips are grease-free. Because the wraps don't like that, but somehow the wrap has to be touched for "manifixing." • Nail Scissors: An indispensable tool for your personal home nail salon. Whether for shortening your nails or trimming the wraps. It's important that they fit well in your hand and are sharp. Dull scissors are not good for your nails or the nail wraps! Do you have trouble cutting the nails on your right hand with your left hand? My tip: get left-handed scissors; they'll fit better in your hand. Give it a try.

Nail file is not just a nail file - Discover the differences

- Sapphire files: usually made of metal or disposable files made of rough cardboard. Often equipped with a coarse and a finer side. Somewhat out of fashion, which, to be honest, doesn't surprise me at all. They are usually very rough on the nail. In addition, if you "slip," the cuticle and nail bed can easily tear. Those with very hard and thick nails might consider such a file.

- Glass nail files: here we come to my long-time companion. It's not unbreakable but gentle on the nail. Tearing of the nail bed or even the nail itself is less likely. The fine grit of the glass file seals the top layers of the nail, preventing splitting. This makes it ideal for weak and brittle nails.

- Buffers: these are thick files that consist of several layers and are not suitable for shortening your nails. They are also not for filing beautiful shapes, but rather for finishing touches. Most of them are quasi 4-in-1, although there are also simple ones. Different surfaces with different grits and a padded surface. Some also call them sanding blocks. An interesting name, if you think about it, not so badly chosen. The selection is huge, often it's actually necessary to try out which one is suitable for you and your nails. If you have cracked, misshapen, and too smooth nails, you should get a suitable buffer. Because if the nail surface is too smooth or has strong grooves, your UV nail wraps will not adhere for long. Roughen it with the buffer or even out irregularities. A buffer is therefore for preparing the nail surface.
