What nail shape should I choose?

I ask myself this question again and again when I want to change the color of my nails. But it's not just about the new color; the design and nail shape also come up repeatedly.

How we prefer to wear our nails ultimately depends on our personal style and preferences.

Nail shape and its meaning

The shape of your nails can indeed say something about your personality. For example, oval nails represent elegance and femininity, while square nails are often associated with self-confidence and pragmatism. Stiletto or almond nails can signify individuality and creativity. Ultimately, however, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable with your nails and that they suit you.

What nail shapes are there?

Round Nails

This is a classic shape that looks more natural and is less prone to breakage. They are also timeless and suit many different styles. If you prefer a subtle yet well-groomed look, round nails are definitely a good choice.

Oval Nails

Oval nails exude elegance and femininity. They have rounded corners and a gently curved shape that can visually lengthen the fingers. This nail shape suits various styles and occasions, from formal to casual. If you like a sophisticated and classic look, oval nails might be for you.

Which of these appeal to you the most?

Personally, I wear my nails in many different ways: sometimes short and straight, sometimes almond-shaped, or sometimes I just let them grow long. With Manifix UV nail wraps, my nails are finally growing again, and I can regularly change their shape.

How to get my nails in shape

At first, my nails looked wild, and every nail shape looked different. Only since I started wearing Manifix have my nails gained a consistent shape. Before, my nails were very thin and often torn, making them uneven. Thanks to Manifix UV nail wraps, my nails have become stronger and more stable, so I can finally wear them longer. The UV nail wraps act as a protective layer on my nails, preventing them from breaking. To get my nails in shape, I like to use nail clippers before removing the UV nail wraps. So, I shape my nails during the wrap change, but while still wearing the old UV nail wrap. This is the best method for me. They are also easier to file short this way. You can also use nail scissors and trim them without UV nail wraps before applying the new wrap.

If you use a nail file, pay attention to the desired grit (finer for more precise control, coarser for faster shaping). File your nails in gentle, even strokes into the desired shape. Make sure to file the sides evenly to achieve a symmetrical shape. I like to use our glass file for this, as it is particularly gentle on our nails.

It took me a very long time to dare to wear longer nails, and I was so happy that I didn't want to cut them for a long time. Meanwhile, my nails grow so fast that I sometimes wear them very short.

Because I find some of our UV nail wraps look better on short nails and some prefer longer nails. Especially our Babyboomer ones prefer longer nails, but you can wear them shorter. Often this is simply a matter of personal preference.
