With these simple steps, you'll get well-groomed hands & nails
We all know it: Dry, cracked cuticles not only ruin every beautiful manicure, but also look unkempt. Yet, it's not that difficult to make hands and nails presentable and soft to the touch again – if you know what matters.
And the best part is: You don't need an expensive spa or hours of beauty sessions. With a few simple care steps and the right product, you can easily ensure well-groomed hands in everyday life – without any drama.
Why well-groomed nails are so much more than just optics
You might think: "Oh, who pays attention to my cuticles?" – I'll tell you: Everyone who shakes your hand. Well-groomed hands are an underestimated calling card – at work, on a date, even at the supermarket checkout. Dry, cracked cuticles unconsciously scream: "I don't have time for myself!" Yet, nail care, in particular, is a small self-care routine with a big effect. So, it's not just about appearances, but about your well-being.
Because when you feel good in your skin – or rather: in your skin and cuticles – you radiate that. And believe me, it shows. Well-groomed hands make the difference between "just okay" and "Wow, what is she doing differently?".
In 4 simple steps to super soft cuticles – and how you can cleverly use your remover oil
1. Cleansing first – but gently!
Keep your hands away from aggressive soaps or disinfectants with a high alcohol content, which additionally dry out your skin. Better: use a mild, moisturizing hand soap. Those who wash their hands often (hello mothers, craft enthusiasts, beauty queens!) should moisturize immediately afterwards.
2. Exfoliation: Out with old cells, on with the glow!
A gentle hand scrub removes dead skin cells and ensures that care products work better later. You can buy one or mix your own: a little sugar, oil, and a drop of lemon – done!
Use the scrub 1–2 times a week – especially in winter or if you work with UV nail wraps that require more attention at the edges.
3. The care game: Nothing works without remover oil
Now comes the star of your routine: Remover oil. And here's what's important: Please don't confuse it with acetone-containing removers – we're talking about a nourishing oil that gently removes excess UV film residue and simultaneously intensely nourishes your cuticles.
Here's how it works:
• Apply one to two drops of remover oil to each nail and the surrounding nail bed.
• Let it soak in briefly – about 1–2 minutes.
• Gently push back the cuticles with a rosewood stick or the hooftick from MANIFIX.
• Carefully lift off any film residue.
• Simply massage in excess oil – no rinsing needed!
Why is this so brilliant? You kill two birds with one stone: Removing & caring in one step.
4. Daily Care: Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize
Regularity beats intensive treatment: Better to moisturize daily than a "紧急手术" once a week. Ideally, you have a small hand cream in your bag, one at work, and one on your nightstand.
Conclusion: Care is not a luxury – it's smart.
Well-groomed hands are not rocket science – but they need a little love. With mild cleansers, gentle exfoliation, an extra dose of nail oil, and daily moisturizing, you're on the safe side. And honestly: If it's that easy, why do without it?
